According to the EPA an estimated 14.5 million tons of plastic containers are generated a year.  Out of that, roughly 70% ended up in landfills. In some cases, it takes plastic up to 500 years to fully decompose. Looking beyond plastic beverage containers, We at Numinous Sustainable Soap have formulated this dishwashing soap and refill pucks in hopes to do our part around sustainability, bring awareness and offer solutions to reduce plastic consumption.

Conventional dish soap formulas contain a cocktail of chemical ingredients that are not skin-friendly. Conventional dish soaps actually harm your skin. Ingredients such as Methylchloroisothiazolinone are known to commonly irritate skin, even cause allergic reactions.  It’s so common for conventional dish soaps to cause symptoms such as rashes, bumps, itching, redness, dry skin, flaking and scaling that pharmaceutical companies have designed specific drugs for relieving soap related skin problems.

Several chemicals commonly found in conventional dish soap harm the environment. Methylchloroisothiazolinone is toxic to aquatic life and harms ecosystems. Sodium Polyacrylate pollutes local waters and poisons living beings. Chlorine is a well-known aquatic toxin.

Kiddos are vulnerable.  Their growing bodies are more sensitive to the dangerous chemicals hidden in conventional dish soaps. Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) damage DNA, affect body systems including reproductive and nervous system, also cause cancer.

According to the New York Times, 23 of the top 25 dish soap brands are tested on animals. Most ingredients found in conventional dish soap derive from Petroleum. These companies increase the global demand for oil…giving money to the oil companies that are responsible for the oil spills that cover the birds and other animals with oil in the first place.

Containing approximately 10 ounces of dish soap, these ceramic dishes last between 2-6 months. (depending on use)

Numinous dish soap is a powerhouse grease cutting, lathering and moisturizing recipe. Calculated with a bold zero percent super fatting, there is no moisture or oils left over during the saponification process. In other words, everything turns into soap. Using a high coconut oil content our dish soap is extremely cleansing, leaving your dishes sparkly & squeaky clean.  Due to coconut oil being very cleansing yet drying, we’ve incorporated the perfect amount of castor oil. Acting as a humectant, castor oil draws moisture from the air, is easily absorbed by the skin making it an exceptional skin softener and conditioner.
